LifeWyn vs a password manager
Password managers are excellent at the thing they do. Emergency access is a feature bolted onto that thing, not the thing itself.
En qué destaca a password manager
- Best-in-class security for the specific job of holding and filling credentials, with years of scrutiny behind it.
- You are probably already using one, and it is already part of your daily habits — which matters more than any feature list.
- Most offer some form of emergency access or recovery kit for a trusted contact.
- Sharing between family members is mature and well understood.
Para qué no está hecho
- Assets that are not credentials. A property, a policy number, a pension from a former employer and an instruction are not logins.
- Verifying that an emergency is real. Emergency access is typically a wait-and-grant mechanism, not a verification one.
- Differentiating recipients. Access tends to be to a vault or a shared folder, rather than per item and per person.
- The claims process. It hands over secrets and stops.

La respuesta honesta
¿Cuál deberías usar?
Keep your password manager — LifeWyn is not trying to replace it, and daily credential hygiene is its own discipline. Use LifeWyn for the layer above: the inventory of what exists, who gets which part of it, and what has to be verified first.
- Can I use both?
- Yes, and most people should. A common arrangement is to keep day-to-day logins in the password manager, and record in LifeWyn the handful of things a family would need to reach it — plus everything the password manager was never meant to hold.
