How Your Nominees Claim: The Whole Sequence, Stage by Stage

What a nominee is told, what they have to prove, how the portal works without an account, and roughly how long each stage takes from first notice to final claim.

Set aside in advance, opened only later

Long before it is needed, the part of your vault you reserve for each nominee is sealed for them specifically — each category's key wrapped under a release code, and placed in escrow. Nothing about it is readable in the meantime, by the nominee or by LifeWyn. It simply waits.

After a death is verified and your rules and consents are satisfied, those sealed keys are released into the nominee's area of the portal. Release is the moment the waiting ends — everything before it is preparation.

Signing in without an account

Your nominees do not need a LifeWyn account. They reach the nominee portal and sign in with their email and a one-time code sent to it. This matters: at the hardest possible time, you are not asking a grieving person to create and remember new credentials.

The portal is deliberately separate from the owner's app, with its own limited access. A nominee sees what was left for them and the steps to claim it, and nothing of yours that was not.

Unlocking what was left, privately

When keys have been released, the nominee enters the release code to unwrap them in their own browser. The decryption happens on their device; LifeWyn never sees the code or the decrypted contents, exactly as it never saw yours. Zero-knowledge protects the inheritance as much as it protected the vault.

The portal also shows honestly why something is not yet available — awaiting release, withheld by a rule, or no longer granted — rather than leaving a blank space that reads as a loss.

Claim Kits: guidance, not just a data dump

Handing someone a folder of documents is not the same as helping them. For each kind of asset, LifeWyn assembles a Claim Kit: the steps to actually claim it, the documents typically needed, and a place to upload what is required and submit it. There is a downloadable version to take offline or to a bank or registrar.

The kit turns "here is an insurance policy" into "here is how you make the claim on it". That gap — between knowing something exists and knowing what to do about it — is where most families get stuck.

Your side of it: approvals

You are not absent from this. Where you chose to, you review and approve claims and document-access requests, and approving a claim — once a death is verified and the required proof and identity documents are verified — is what releases the associated keys. It keeps a person in the loop on the decisions that matter most.

For particularly sensitive material there is a document room and a request-and-approve flow, so a nominee can ask for access to a specific item and receive exactly that, tracked and audited, rather than a blanket handover.

लोग जो सवाल पूछते हैं

Do my nominees need to create an account?
No. They sign in to the nominee portal with their email and a one-time code — no account, no new password to remember at the worst possible time.
Can LifeWyn read what my nominees inherit?
No. The keys are unwrapped with a release code on the nominee's own device, so the decrypted contents never reach us — the same zero-knowledge protection that applied to your vault.
What is a Claim Kit?
A per-asset pack: the steps to claim it, the documents usually needed, a place to upload and submit them, and a downloadable copy. It is guidance for acting, not just a list of what exists.
