LifeWyn

Your debts will find your family. Your savings won't.

LifeWyn is a digital legacy platform. It keeps your accounts, documents, passwords and instructions in a vault that is encrypted on your own device, and hands each part to the person you named, only after your rules are met. LifeWyn never holds your money and cannot read what you store.

The loan recovery desk already has your family's number. Your bank, your broker, your insurer — they wait to be found. LifeWyn keeps the other half of the ledger: encrypted, and handed to the people you name, only when the rules you set are met.

Encrypted on your device before it reaches us. We hold the map, never the money.

What LifeWyn does

What LifeWyn actually does

LifeWyn sits between a password manager and a will, and does the job neither was built for. A password manager keeps secrets but was never designed to pass them on. A will decides who inherits, but it cannot tell your family that the account exists. LifeWyn holds the record itself, encrypted, with instructions attached and a release that has to be earned.

Locked before it leaves you

Your files are scrambled on your own device. What reaches our servers is noise we can't read — by design, not by promise.

Only you hold the key

The key that opens your vault is built from your passphrase and split into pieces. No master switch, no support-desk override, no back door.

Every record carries its own instructions

Every item carries its own instructions — who it's for, when it opens, what proof is needed. The 'what to do' never gets separated from the 'what it is'.

Everyone gets their own door

Your spouse, your kids, your executor, your lawyer — each opens a different room, with guidance written for them. No group password thrown over the wall.

The part no one plans for

It’s 11pm, and someone you love is holding your phone. It won’t open.

They know there was a term policy — not with whom. A fixed deposit “somewhere.” A locker key with no branch. A folio number buried in an inbox they can’t reach. Grief is hard enough; without a map, we make families do it as detectives too — calling institutions that ask for documents they didn’t know existed, for accounts they were never told about. Here is everything a single, ordinary life quietly touches:

A Real Example

What this looks like for one real family

One ordinary life isn't unusual — two salaries, a home loan, a few mutual funds, a term policy, a crypto wallet set up years ago. The hard part was never any single account. It was that the whole picture lived in one person's head. So one evening they mapped it, and decided who should see which part of it, and when.

Today, none of them can see any of it.

Right now, one person is still the only one holding the whole map. Nothing is shared the moment it's added — access only ever opens later, the way it was decided, and only for the person it was meant for.

You decide who needs what

His wife

Bank and investment accounts, insurance policies, property papers, and the everyday household instructions she will need.

His brother

The technical, private things — business details and how to recover the crypto wallet.

His executor

Only the formal side: legal documents, tax records, and estate instructions.

His daughter

Not the money — the personal letters, the family memories, and a message meant only for her.

  • If he's hospitalized — Only the emergency details he chose can surface. Nothing else opens.

  • If he goes quiet — Check-ins, reminders, and a trusted contact all have to agree before anything escalates.

  • If his passing is verified — His legacy instructions move through verification first — then reach each person, one room at a time.

Everyone gets what they need. No one is handed everything.

How It Works

Six steps. Then it runs quietly for years.

Set it up once. After that LifeWyn waits in the background and only steps forward when your own rules say it should.

1
Step 1

Fill the vault, one evening

Add your accounts, documents, passwords, property, and the things only you know — the branch that handles your policy, where the locker key really is. Anything sensitive is encrypted on your device before it uploads.

What goes in

Bank and investment accounts, insurance, property papers, crypto notes, IDs, subscriptions, and the messages you want to leave behind.

Your family gets a map, not a mystery.

2
Step 2

Name your people

Give each item a recipient — and a backup. They're told they've been named, but they see nothing yet. You decide exactly what opens, for whom, and on what proof.

You control

Per-item recipients, backup contacts, release timing, and the evidence each handover requires.

No blanket access. No panic-sharing a password at 2am.

3
Step 3

The vault checks in on you

A tap on your phone — or a quiet scheduled check-in — keeps everything sealed. Miss a few and LifeWyn nudges you first, then asks your trusted contacts, long before it considers opening anything.

Signals

App activity, scheduled check-ins, trusted-contact confirmations, grace periods, and one-tap cancellation whenever you want it.

Silence alone is never treated as proof.

4
Step 4

Evidence has to arrive

Documents are submitted and screened, and the person claiming access proves separately that they are who you named. This stage runs across days 5 to 14 and cannot be skipped.

What is checked

Certificates screened for consistency, digital signatures verified, a government ID and liveness check on the claimant, and a fraud score across every signal.

A claim on its own is never evidence.

5
Step 5

A waiting period you chose

Even after everything is verified, any time lock you set has to elapse — and a cancellation check runs throughout it. You can stop the whole thing from your phone, without explaining why.

Still reversible

Per-item, per-recipient time locks, a running cancellation check, and your own one-tap stop at any point before release.

Slow on purpose. A wrong release cannot be undone.

6
Step 6

Handover, only when it's real

When the certificate, the identity checks, and the waiting periods all line up, the right keys and instructions reach the right people — and nothing more than that.

The release gate

Verified documents, trusted-contact sign-off, fraud review, your own rules, and recipient identity checks.

The right people get the right guidance, at the moment they need it.

Who sees what

The right information, to the right person, at the right moment

Your spouse doesn't need your business files. Your lawyer doesn't need your love letters. Give each person their own room, their own trigger, their own proof, and their own message — everyone gets exactly their part, and nothing more.

Security by Design

Our servers are blind, and we built them that way

Your vault is encrypted on your device before it ever reaches us. The key is split into pieces held in separate places, so no single party — us included — can put it back together. We store noise, and release only encrypted shares. Never plaintext.

Client-side encryption — keys never leave your device
Threshold cryptography — no single point of trust
No server-side vault decryption
Audit-logged, hash-chained operations
The server never decrypts your data — only ciphertext is stored.
We release encrypted key-shares, never plaintext keys.
Threshold cryptography means no single party can unlock alone.

Wherever you are

Where LifeWyn works

LifeWyn is built in India and works anywhere. The vault does not care which country an account sits in. What changes country to country is the word your paperwork uses for the person receiving it, and LifeWyn is designed around that.

In India

LifeWyn handles the things Indian families actually lose track of. Provident fund and pension accounts, PPF, fixed deposits that keep auto-renewing, ULIPs and term plans, demat folios, property papers, locker details, and the nominee entries you filled in years ago and never revisited. LifeWyn stores who the nominee is for each item, alongside the documents that prove it.

Outside India

The same vault holds a 401(k) or IRA in the United States, a workplace pension and ISA in the United Kingdom, superannuation in Australia, or a CPF account in Singapore. Where your paperwork says beneficiary, executor or trustee, LifeWyn stores that designation with the record it belongs to.

If your family is spread across countries

Cross-border families carry the worst version of this problem. Property in one country, retirement savings in another, and heirs in a third, each governed by different rules. LifeWyn keeps all of it in one place, with the right local designation attached to each item, so nobody has to reconstruct a life across three time zones.

A note on words.

LifeWyn uses “recipient” throughout, because the legal term changes by country. In India and much of South Asia the paperwork says nominee. In the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia it usually says beneficiary. A recipient in LifeWyn is simply the person who receives a record when your rules are met, and that is not the same as legally inheriting anything.

If you live outside India, start here

The evidence

This isn't a hypothetical. The gap is real, and it's wide.

We built LifeWyn around the failures researchers keep documenting — plans never made, accounts no one could reach, digital lives that vanished with a forgotten password. Here's what the numbers say, with sources you can check yourself.

84.8% have no will

Most Indians never write it down

In India only about one adult in seven has a will: 84.8% have none, and 62.5% have no plans to make one. The hard part was never the paperwork; it is starting. So we made the first step take an evening, not a lawyer's appointment.

79.8% expecting to inherit

A will names who inherits. Not where it is.

Even among Indians expecting an inheritance, 79.8% have not written their own will. And a will only ever names who inherits, never what exists or how to reach it. That missing map is the layer LifeWyn adds.

46.7% never discuss it

The silence is the real barrier

Nearly half of Indian households have never discussed wills or estate planning at all, and only 21.8% have had a detailed conversation. The study also found families usually start planning after a dispute, not before one.

Before you trust us with this

The questions people ask first

Can LifeWyn read my vault?

No. Your vault is encrypted on your own device and reaches us as ciphertext. The key is built from your passphrase and split into pieces held separately, so no single party — including us — can rebuild it.

What actually triggers a handover?

Never silence alone. A missed check-in starts reminders to you, then to your trusted contacts. A release also needs verified documents, an identity check on the recipient, and any waiting period you set. You can stop it at any point before the final state.

Is a digital vault the same as a will?

No, and it isn't a legal document. A will decides who legally inherits; a digital vault makes sure those people can find and claim what they have inherited. In India a nominee is a custodian, not the owner — the will still decides ownership. Most families need both, and they do different jobs.

What is the difference between a nominee and a legal heir?

A nominee receives the money and holds it. A legal heir owns it. In India the two are often different people, which is why a bank releases funds to a nominee while a court still decides ownership. LifeWyn records both, so your family is not left guessing.

Does my family need to understand encryption?

No. Each person you named opens a guided room with only the records meant for them, and plain instructions for what to do first. No technical knowledge required, on the hardest day.

Do you hold my money?

Never. Your bank still holds your savings and your broker still holds your investments. LifeWyn holds the map to all of it — never the money itself.

Can I use LifeWyn if I live outside India?

Yes. LifeWyn works with accounts in any country and stores the local designation, whether your paperwork says nominee, beneficiary, executor or trustee.

How is this different from a password manager?

A password manager keeps your secrets safe while you are using them. It was never built to pass them on, explain what they are for, or check whether a handover is genuine. LifeWyn does those three things and keeps the encryption just as strict.

What happens if LifeWyn shuts down?

You can export everything, any day. Your vault export is a documented, open format that you decrypt with your own passphrase and recovery shares — it opens without LifeWyn's servers, and without LifeWyn existing at all. Because we never hold a working copy of your key, no wind-down and no new owner can read your data. And if we ever have to close, our commitment is plain: clear advance notice and a full export window before anything is switched off.

What if you forget your password?

LifeWyn cannot reset it. There is no server-side copy of your key — which is exactly why a breach of our servers cannot expose your vault. Recovery runs through the trusted contacts and recovery shares you set up on your first day, which is why setup asks for them before anything else.

Give your family a map, not a mystery
