Overview
The UK has no single register. Dormant bank and building-society accounts are searched free via My Lost Account (UK Finance, BSA & NS&I). Unclaimed estates (people who died without a will or known heirs) are published daily by the Government Legal Department's Bona Vacantia list. Lost pensions can be traced via the government's Pension Tracing Service. Estimates of total dormant assets vary widely across reports, hence the wide range.
